Show me!Being a full stack web/app developer means I have a very diverse skill set - from server setup, infrastructure, backend programming & database architecture to front end development & design.
I'm a professional full time designer and developer with almost 15 years of experience. I take on any size project from small starters and micro sites to fully fledged e-commerce shopping sites and complex apps.
What makes me a good freelance developer?
I have a strange mix of creativity and logical thinking. I love design and I love writing complex code, as geeky as that sounds! I love what I do and I take pride in my work.
I work in a creative studio surrounded by other freelancers, teams and agencies all working in the digital creative industry.
This enables me to outsource when project timelines demand and also take on joint collaborative projects.
Often clients will need ongoing support after their website launch, especially regarding SEO, content creation and marketing.
Obviously working in a studio full of these techie creative types comes in very handy!
Some relevant roles here include:
Your project will probably encompass most of the following areas of expertise:
I can work on existing projects too, whether you need some new functionality adding or something fixing. Either bespoke code bases or open source such as WordPress, Joomla, Magento, PrestaShop, etc.
Over the years I have built up a wealth of SEO knowledge which rivals any SEO agency. Rest assured that good SEO practices are at the forefront of my design and development process.
You may be asking yourself if you should go with an agency or a freelancer, well let me give you my, maybe slightly biased, outlook on this.
A more personalised experience.
Working with me means you get to speak to me, the developer, designer and SEO guru rolled up into one, not a sales guy or project manager with limited technical knowledge. Talking over crucial design decisions with somebody who's an expert in all the different aspects is invaluable, I can tell you what works and what won't work.
You might get stuck with me anyway!
Something which may surprise you, is that a good portion of my work is actually working on projects outsourced to me by agencies. This is due to the agency taking on too much work, lacking the resources, or they simply don't have the right technical skills for a specific project. I've taken on work from large corporate marketing firms to small graphic design agencies to fully fledged web design agencies.
Collaborative projects are fun.
Typically us freelancers all know each other, and more importantly we know who the goods ones are. I have a network of award-winning content writers, graphic designers, marketing consultants and even other developers I can collaborate with.
We're cheaper.
This one should be obvious, but I simply don't have the overheads which an agency has to cover, unless you're adding up the sheer amount of coffee I consume!
